L1, 576 Burke Rd, Camberwell (enter from rear)

Date & Time: Sat 10th Sept, 2016 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Cost: $80 (concessions available)

Suitable for: Any student with some experience of yoga postures and wanting to deepen their understanding and experience of yoga practice.

Description:The word Yoga means unity. The age old practices of Yoga are intended to reveal the inherent unity of body, breath, mind, and consciousness. All too often, however, in our modern yoga practice we focus on the particular and lose sight of the whole. This workshop explores the basic practices and principles of yoga from the perspective of an wholistic approach, revealing the inherent intelligence and unity of the whole body, breath and mind in the light of our awareness.
An accessible set of techniques will be taught to provide a context within which to honour the body's inherent unity. These include breath awareness and release, structural integration and alignment in the postures based on the bandhas, stillness and meditation. The postures will be taught with safety and integrity always to the fore. In this way the student will experience the deep inner dynamic of interconnectivity that is at the heart of yogic experience.
